Matthew 16:6 meaning and explanation
“Watch out!” Jesus told them. “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Matthew 16:6, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus says this to his disciples just after crossing the Sea of Galilee, shortly after the Pharisees and Sadducees demanded a sign from him. Leaven, or yeast, works silently through a whole batch of dough, and Jesus uses it as a picture of influence that spreads.
