Matthew 24:30 meaning and explanation
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

Jesus is speaking privately to his disciples on the Mount of Olives about the sign of his coming and the end of the age. Here he draws on Daniel 7, where one like a son of man comes with the clouds of heaven to receive dominion, and the mourning of the tribes echoes Zechariah 12:10.
