Jesus has brought Peter, James and John farther into Gethsemane and asked them to stay awake with Him while He prays, telling them His soul is sorrowful to the point of death. Returning from prayer, He finds them asleep and speaks to Peter by name, the disciple who had just promised never to fall away.
