After they had mocked Him, they removed the robe and put His own clothes back on Him. Then they led Him away to crucify Him.

The Roman soldiers have finished their mockery in the Praetorium, where they dressed Jesus in a scarlet robe, crowned Him with thorns and hailed Him as King of the Jews. Now they strip off that costume and dress Him again in His own clothes.
