Matthew has just told how the women ran from the empty tomb to tell the disciples, and how the guards were paid to spread a false story. Now the eleven, Judas having died, obey the instruction the angel and Jesus both gave: they leave Jerusalem and return to Galilee, to a mountain Jesus had named in advance.
