Matthew 4:19 meaning and explanation
“Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus is walking beside the Sea of Galilee and calls two working fishermen, Simon Peter and Andrew, who are casting a net. The Greek word for "follow" here, deute opiso mou, means literally "come after me," a call to a shared life with a teacher rather than a one-time decision.
