Numbers 12:8 meaning and explanation

I speak with him face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you unafraid to speak against My servant Moses?”

Numbers 12:8, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

God speaks these words at the Tent of Meeting, answering Miriam and Aaron, who had challenged Moses' unique authority. The LORD distinguishes Moses from every other prophet: others receive visions and dreams, but Moses receives direct, clear speech, and the text says he beholds the form of the LORD.
