Numbers 15:36 meaning and explanation
So the whole congregation took the man outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Numbers 15:36, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The man had been caught gathering wood on the Sabbath, and since the penalty had not yet been specified, he was held in custody until the LORD spoke. Verses 30 and 31 frame his act as defiant sin, a deliberate despising of God's word rather than an unintentional error.
