Numbers 3:32 meaning and explanation
The chief of the leaders of the Levites was Eleazar son of Aaron the priest; he oversaw those responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.

Explanation preview
Eleazar was Aaron's son and, after the deaths of Nadab and Abihu, next in line to the high priesthood. In this verse the LORD places him over the Levites who served the sanctuary, especially the Kohathites, whose charge included the ark, the table, the lampstand and the altars.
