Numbers 32:8 meaning and explanation
This is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to inspect the land.
Numbers 32:8, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Moses is speaking to the Gadites and Reubenites, who have asked to settle east of the Jordan instead of crossing into Canaan with the other tribes. He answers their request by pointing back to a painful memory: the spies sent from Kadesh-barnea, whose report discouraged Israel and led to forty years of wandering.
