Numbers 5:12 meaning and explanation
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them that if any man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him
Numbers 5:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The LORD is speaking to Moses, giving Israel a law for a husband who suspects his wife of adultery. The verse introduces the case: a married woman “goes astray and is unfaithful to him.” The Hebrew verb translated “goes astray” (satah) carries the sense of turning aside from the right path, and the law that follows deals with suspicion where there is no witness and no proof.
