Philippians 3:18 meaning and explanation

For as I have often told you before, and now say again even with tears: Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.

Philippians 3:18, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Paul is writing from prison to the believers at Philippi, and he returns here to a warning he had given them in person. The tears show this is grief, not anger: people he likely once knew are living in a way that contradicts the cross of Christ.
