Galatians 6:12 meaning and explanation
Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. They only do this to avoid persecution for the cross of Christ.
Galatians 6:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is writing near the end of his letter to the Galatian churches, and here he names the motives of the teachers who insisted Gentile believers be circumcised. These agitators wanted a good outward showing, literally a fair appearance in the Greek (euprosōpeō), and their demand was really about avoiding persecution.
