Bible in a year reading for day 189.

Psalms 119

  1. 143 Trouble and distress have found me, but Your commandments are my delight.
  2. 144 Your testimonies are righteous forever. Give me understanding, that I may live.
  3. 145 I call with all my heart; answer me, O LORD! I will obey Your statutes.
  4. 146 I call to You; save me, that I may keep Your testimonies.
  5. 147 I rise before dawn and cry for help; in Your word I have put my hope.
  6. 148 My eyes anticipate the watches of night, that I may meditate on Your word.
  7. 149 Hear my voice, O LORD, according to Your loving devotion; give me life according to Your justice.
  8. 150 Those who follow after wickedness draw near; they are far from Your law.
  9. 151 You are near, O LORD, and all Your commandments are true.
  10. 152 Long ago I learned from Your testimonies that You have established them forever.
  11. 153 Look upon my affliction and rescue me, for I have not forgotten Your law.
  12. 154 Defend my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word.
  13. 155 Salvation is far from the wicked because they do not seek Your statutes.
  14. 156 Great are Your mercies, O LORD; revive me according to Your ordinances.
  15. 157 Though my persecutors and foes are many, I have not turned from Your testimonies.
  16. 158 I look on the faithless with loathing because they do not keep Your word.
  17. 159 Consider how I love Your precepts, O LORD; give me life according to Your loving devotion.
  18. 160 The entirety of Your word is truth, and all Your righteous judgments endure forever.
  19. 161 Rulers persecute me without cause, but my heart fears only Your word.
  20. 162 I rejoice in Your promise like one who finds great spoil.
  21. 163 I hate and abhor falsehood, but Your law I love.
  22. 164 Seven times a day I praise You for Your righteous judgments.
  23. 165 Abundant peace belongs to those who love Your law; nothing can make them stumble.
  24. 166 I wait for Your salvation, O LORD, and I carry out Your commandments.
  25. 167 I obey Your testimonies and love them greatly.
  26. 168 I obey Your precepts and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You.
  27. 169 May my cry come before You, O LORD; give me understanding according to Your word.
  28. 170 May my plea come before You; rescue me according to Your promise.
  29. 171 My lips pour forth praise, for You teach me Your statutes.
  30. 172 My tongue sings of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteous.
  31. 173 May Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.
  32. 174 I long for Your salvation, O LORD, and Your law is my delight.
  33. 175 Let me live to praise You; may Your judgments sustain me.
  34. 176 I have strayed like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, for I have not forgotten Your commandments.

Psalms 120

  1. 1 A song of ascents. In my distress I cried to the LORD, and He answered me.
  2. 2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips and a deceitful tongue.
  3. 3 What will He do to you, and what will be added to you, O deceitful tongue?
  4. 4 Sharp arrows will come from the warrior, with burning coals of the broom tree!
  5. 5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar!
  6. 6 Too long have I dwelt among those who hate peace.
  7. 7 I am in favor of peace; but when I speak, they want war.

Psalms 121

  1. 1 A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
  2. 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
  3. 3 He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.
  4. 4 Behold, the Protector of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
  5. 5 The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is the shade on your right hand.
  6. 6 The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
  7. 7 The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul.
  8. 8 The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.

Psalms 122

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
  2. 2 Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem.
  3. 3 Jerusalem is built up as a city united together,
  4. 4 where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as a testimony for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
  5. 5 For there the thrones of judgment stand, the thrones of the house of David.
  6. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper.
  7. 7 May there be peace within your walls, and prosperity inside your fortresses.”
  8. 8 For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”
  9. 9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.

Psalms 123

  1. 1 A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to You, the One enthroned in heaven.
  2. 2 As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes are on the LORD our God until He shows us mercy.
  3. 3 Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy, for we have endured much contempt.
  4. 4 We have endured much scorn from the arrogant, much contempt from the proud.

Psalms 124

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Of David. If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel now declare—
  2. 2 if the LORD had not been on our side when men attacked us,
  3. 3 when their anger flared against us, then they would have swallowed us alive,
  4. 4 then the floods would have engulfed us, then the torrent would have overwhelmed us,
  5. 5 then the raging waters would have swept us away.
  6. 6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth.
  7. 7 We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowler; the net is torn, and we have slipped away.
  8. 8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalms 125

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion. It cannot be moved; it abides forever.
  2. 2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people, both now and forevermore.
  3. 3 For the scepter of the wicked will not rest upon the land allotted to the righteous, so that the righteous will not put forth their hands to injustice.
  4. 4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, and to the upright in heart.
  5. 5 But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.

Psalms 126

  1. 1 A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the captives of Zion, we were like dreamers.
  2. 2 Then our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with shouts of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
  3. 3 The LORD has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
  4. 4 Restore our captives, O LORD, like streams in the Negev.
  5. 5 Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy.
  6. 6 He who goes out weeping, bearing a trail of seed, will surely return with shouts of joy, carrying sheaves of grain.

Psalms 127

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain.
  2. 2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat— for He gives sleep to His beloved.
  3. 3 Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.
  4. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth.
