Day 190: Psalms 127 - 136

Bible in a year reading for day 190.

Psalms 127

  1. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. He will not be put to shame when he confronts the enemies at the gate.

Psalms 128

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in His ways!
  2. 2 For when you eat the fruit of your labor, blessings and prosperity will be yours.
  3. 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine flourishing within your house, your sons like olive shoots sitting around your table.
  4. 4 In this way indeed shall blessing come to the man who fears the LORD.
  5. 5 May the LORD bless you from Zion, that you may see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life,
  6. 6 that you may see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!

Psalms 129

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Many a time they have persecuted me from my youth— let Israel now declare—
  2. 2 many a time they have persecuted me from my youth, but they have not prevailed against me.
  3. 3 The plowmen plowed over my back; they made their furrows long.
  4. 4 The LORD is righteous; He has cut me from the cords of the wicked.
  5. 5 May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame.
  6. 6 May they be like grass on the rooftops, which withers before it can grow,
  7. 7 unable to fill the hands of the reaper, or the arms of the binder of sheaves.
  8. 8 May none who pass by say to them, “The blessing of the LORD be on you; we bless you in the name of the LORD.”

Psalms 130

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Out of the depths I cry to You, O LORD!
  2. 2 O Lord, hear my voice; let Your ears be attentive to my plea for mercy.
  3. 3 If You, O LORD, kept track of iniquities, then who, O Lord, could stand?
  4. 4 But with You there is forgiveness, so that You may be feared.
  5. 5 I wait for the LORD; my soul does wait, and in His word I put my hope.
  6. 6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning— more than watchmen wait for the morning.
  7. 7 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is loving devotion, and with Him is redemption in abundance.
  8. 8 And He will redeem Israel from all iniquity.

Psalms 131

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Of David. My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty. I do not aspire to great things or matters too lofty for me.
  2. 2 Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.
  3. 3 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, both now and forevermore.

Psalms 132

  1. 1 A song of ascents. O LORD, remember on behalf of David all the hardships he endured,
  2. 2 how he swore an oath to the LORD, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
  3. 3 “I will not enter my house or get into my bed,
  4. 4 I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
  5. 5 until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
  6. 6 We heard that the ark was in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar.
  7. 7 Let us go to His dwelling place; let us worship at His footstool.
  8. 8 Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength.
  9. 9 May Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and Your saints shout for joy.
  10. 10 For the sake of Your servant David, do not reject Your anointed one.
  11. 11 The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise He will not revoke: “One of your descendants I will place on your throne.
  12. 12 If your sons keep My covenant and the testimony I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever and ever.”
  13. 13 For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His home:
  14. 14 “This is My resting place forever and ever; here I will dwell, for I have desired this home.
  15. 15 I will bless her with abundant provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread.
  16. 16 I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will sing out in joy.
  17. 17 There I will make a horn grow for David; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed one.
  18. 18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown upon him will gleam.”

Psalms 133

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!
  2. 2 It is like fine oil on the head, running down on the beard, running down Aaron’s beard over the collar of his robes.
  3. 3 It is like the dew of Hermon falling on the mountains of Zion. For there the LORD has bestowed the blessing of life forevermore.

Psalms 134

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Come, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD who serve by night in the house of the LORD!
  2. 2 Lift up your hands to the sanctuary and bless the LORD!
  3. 3 May the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.

Psalms 135

  1. 1 Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, O servants of the LORD,
  2. 2 who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
  3. 3 Hallelujah, for the LORD is good; sing praises to His name, for it is lovely.
  4. 4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob as His own, Israel as His treasured possession.
  5. 5 For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is above all gods.
  6. 6 The LORD does all that pleases Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and in all their depths.
  7. 7 He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
  8. 8 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, of both man and beast.
  9. 9 He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
  10. 10 He struck down many nations and slaughtered mighty kings:
  11. 11 Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.
  12. 12 He gave their land as an inheritance, as a heritage to His people Israel.
  13. 13 Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your renown, O LORD, through all generations.
  14. 14 For the LORD will vindicate His people and will have compassion on His servants.
  15. 15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.
  16. 16 They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
  17. 17 they have ears, but cannot hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.
  18. 18 Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.
  19. 19 O house of Israel, bless the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless the LORD;
  20. 20 O house of Levi, bless the LORD; you who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
  21. 21 Blessed be the LORD from Zion— He who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
