You have armed me with strength for battle; You have subdued my foes beneath me.
Psalms 18:39, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Psalm 18 is David's song of deliverance, sung after the LORD rescued him from Saul and all his enemies. In verse 39 David continues his account of the battle, and he credits God directly: the strength he fights with is given, not self-made, and the victory over his foes is God's work of subduing them under his feet.
