Psalms 33:21 meaning and explanation

For our hearts rejoice in Him, since we trust in His holy name.

Psalms 33:21, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Psalm 33 is a hymn of praise, and in verse 21 the congregation speaks together, summing up the trust the whole psalm has urged. The rejoicing is a response to trust, not a vague good mood: the people have just confessed that armies and horses cannot save (verses 16 and 17) and that God's eyes are on those who hope in Him (verse 18).
