Psalms 35:27 meaning and explanation

May those who favor my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, “Exalted be the LORD who delights in His servant’s well-being.”

Psalms 35:27, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

David, surrounded by enemies who slander him and repay his kindness with evil, asks God to defend his cause. In verse 27 he prays for those who side with him, that they may shout for joy and say, "Exalted be the LORD who delights in His servant's well-being." The Hebrew word ratsah, rendered "delights," carries the sense of being pleased with or favorable toward someone.
