Psalms 80:2 meaning and explanation
before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Rally Your mighty power and come to save us.
Psalms 80:2, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The psalmist, likely a Levite of the northern kingdom in a time of national defeat, calls on God as the Shepherd of Israel to appear before the tribes descended from Rachel's sons. Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh marched closest to the ark in the wilderness camp, so naming them evokes God's enthroned presence between the cherubim.
