The sixth bowl dries up the Euphrates so the kings from the east can march, and demonic spirits from the dragon, beast and false prophet gather the world's rulers for battle. John names the gathering place with a Hebrew term, Armageddon, likely meaning "Mount Megiddo," recalling the plain of Megiddo where Israel's history saw both deliverance and defeat.
