The seventh angel pours his bowl into the air, the space above the earth where the previous plagues did not reach, and a voice from the throne in the temple declares, “It is done!” This is the last of the seven bowls of God’s wrath, completing the series begun in chapter 15. The Greek word gegonen means “it has happened,” marking the judgments as finished, with nothing left to pour out.
