Revelation 19:11 meaning and explanation

Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war.

Revelation 19:11, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

John, exiled on Patmos, sees a vision of heaven opened and a rider on a white horse. In the Roman world a white horse often signaled a conqueror or a victorious general, and Revelation uses that image for Jesus, who returns not to teach but to judge.
