Romans 11:31, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Paul is speaking to Gentile believers in Rome, completing the argument of verses 30 and 31: Israel's present disobedience has become the setting in which God's mercy reaches the Gentiles, and that same mercy shown to the Gentiles is the means by which Israel too will receive mercy. The Greek word for mercy, eleos, means compassion shown to the undeserving.
