Romans 16:23 meaning and explanation

Gaius, who has hosted me and all the church, sends you greetings. Erastus, the city treasurer, sends you greetings, as does our brother Quartus.

Romans 16:23, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

In Romans 16 Paul closes his letter with greetings from believers around Corinth, where he was staying. Gaius is likely the same Gaius baptized by Paul in Corinth (1 Corinthians 1:14), and here he hosts Paul and the whole church, meaning the congregation that gathered in his home.
