Zechariah 14:4 meaning and explanation
On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south.
Zechariah 14:4, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Zechariah pictures the climax of the day of the LORD, when the nations have gathered against Jerusalem and the LORD himself comes to fight for his people. The Mount of Olives lies just east of the city, and the prophet sees the LORD standing there and the ground splitting beneath him, opening a valley that becomes a way of escape, like the flight from the earthquake in Uzziah's reign.
