And you are to tell him that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Here is a man whose name is the Branch, and He will branch out from His place and build the temple of the LORD.

Explanation preview
Zechariah is told to crown the high priest Joshua with silver and gold and to announce this oracle over him. The name "Branch" (Hebrew tsemach) recalls earlier promises of a shoot from David's line (Isaiah 11:1; Jeremiah 23:5), so a priest is crowned while the prophet speaks of a coming ruler who will build the LORD's temple.
