Zechariah 9:7 meaning and explanation
I will remove the blood from their mouths and the abominations from between their teeth. Then they too will become a remnant for our God; they will become like a clan in Judah, and Ekron will be like the Jebusites.
Zechariah 9:7, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Zechariah is prophesying judgment on Israel's neighbors, including the Philistine cities, and verse 7 describes a surprising reversal. The blood and abominations between their teeth point to pagan sacrificial meals and forbidden food, the idolatry that marked Philistine worship.
