1 John 2:27 meaning and explanation
And as for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But just as His true and genuine anointing teaches you about all things, so remain in Him as you have been taught.
1 John 2:27, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The aged apostle John writes to a congregation unsettled by teachers who had left them (verse 19) and were denying that Jesus is the Christ (verse 22). His point is not that teaching is useless, since he himself is teaching them, but that the anointing they received from the Holy One remains in them and guards them against deception.
