1 Kings 13:26 meaning and explanation
When the prophet who had brought him back from his journey heard this, he said, “It is the man of God who disobeyed the command of the LORD. Therefore the LORD has delivered him to the lion, and it has mauled him and killed him, according to the word that the LORD had spoken to him.”
1 Kings 13:26, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The old prophet of Bethel speaks here, the man who had lied to the Judean man of God by claiming an angel had reversed God's command. Now word reaches him that the traveler's body lies on the road with a lion standing beside it, and he names the cause plainly: the man disobeyed the command of the LORD, so God delivered him to the lion.
