1 Kings 14:11 meaning and explanation
Anyone belonging to Jeroboam who dies in the city will be eaten by dogs, and anyone who dies in the field will be eaten by the birds of the air.’ For the LORD has spoken.

These words come from the prophet Ahijah to Jeroboam's wife, who had come in disguise to ask about her sick son. Jeroboam had been raised up as king but had set up golden calves and led Israel into idolatry, so the LORD pronounces judgment on his whole house.
