1 Kings 22:24 meaning and explanation

1 Kings 22:24, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Zedekiah son of Chenaanah had led the four hundred prophets who promised Ahab success at Ramoth-gilead. When Micaiah described a heavenly council where a lying spirit was sent to deceive those prophets, Zedekiah struck his face and demanded, “Which way did the Spirit of the LORD go when He departed from me to speak with you?” The taunt assumes the Spirit belonged to Zedekiah and that Micaiah was the pretender.
