2 Timothy 3:9 meaning and explanation
But they will not advance much further. For just like Jannes and Jambres, their folly will be plain to everyone.
2 Timothy 3:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul writes to Timothy, his younger coworker in ministry, warning about false teachers who resist the truth as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses. These two names come from Jewish tradition rather than the Old Testament, where the Egyptian magicians who opposed Moses are left unnamed.
