Daniel 11:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Daniel 11 is a long prophetic survey, spoken to Daniel by an angelic figure, of conflicts between the "king of the South" (the Ptolemaic rulers of Egypt) and the "king of the North" (the Seleucid rulers of Syria). Verse 9 continues the sequence begun in verse 7: after the Egyptian king's campaign into the north, the northern king responds by invading the south but then withdraws home without lasting gain.
