You who were as numerous as the stars in the sky will be left few in number, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God.

Moses is speaking to Israel on the plains of Moab, setting before the people the blessings of obedience and the curses of covenant breaking before they enter the land. Verse 62 closes the long list of curses by reversing the promise to Abraham, that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars of the sky.
