Ecclesiastes 8:15 meaning and explanation
So I commended the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be merry. For this joy will accompany him in his labor during the days of his life that God gives him under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 8:15, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The Teacher has just named a futility he cannot resolve: righteous people receiving what the wicked deserve and wicked people receiving what the righteous deserve (verse 14). Unable to explain or control this, he commends enjoyment of life, as he does elsewhere in the book.
