Exodus 13:8 meaning and explanation

And on that day you are to explain to your son, ‘This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

Exodus 13:8, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Moses is speaking to the Israelites as they leave Egypt, telling them how to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread once they reach the promised land. Verse 8 puts a son's question at the center of that observance: the parent must explain that the bread recalls what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.
