Ezekiel 36:19 meaning and explanation

I dispersed them among the nations, and they were scattered throughout the lands. I judged them according to their ways and deeds.

Ezekiel 36:19, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

In this verse God speaks through Ezekiel to the exiles in Babylon, explaining why they are there. The scattering among the nations was not random misfortune or enemy triumph but God's own judgment on Israel for the bloodshed and idolatry described in the previous verses.
