Ezekiel 4:9 meaning and explanation
But take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt; put them in a single container and make them into bread for yourself. This is what you are to eat during the 390 days you lie on your side.
Ezekiel 4:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
God has told Ezekiel to act out Jerusalem's siege in miniature, and here He specifies the prophet's ration for the 390 days he lies on his left side, bearing Israel's iniquity. The mixed grains, wheat and barley plus beans, lentils, millet and spelt, are survival food rather than a delicacy, the sort of blend people resort to when supplies run low.
