Ezekiel 47:9 meaning and explanation

Wherever the river flows, there will be swarms of living creatures and a great number of fish, because it flows there and makes the waters fresh; so wherever the river flows, everything will flourish.

Ezekiel 47:9, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Ezekiel is in a vision of a restored temple, and the man guiding him has just measured a stream that grows from ankle-deep to a river too deep to cross. The river flows east into the Arabah and empties into the Dead Sea, whose salt water becomes fresh.
