Genesis 27:36 meaning and explanation
So Esau declared, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has cheated me twice. He took my birthright, and now he has taken my blessing.” Then he asked, “Haven’t you saved a blessing for me?”
Genesis 27:36, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Esau speaks these words to his father Isaac after learning that Jacob has received the blessing meant for him. His cry plays on the name Jacob, which sounds like the Hebrew word for heel or deceiver, and he accuses his brother of two wrongs: taking the birthright and now the blessing.
