Hebrews 11:9 meaning and explanation
By faith he dwelt in the promised land as a stranger in a foreign country. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.
Hebrews 11:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The writer continues his portrait of Abraham, who obeyed God's call to Canaan and then lived there as a resident alien rather than a settled owner. The land was promised to him, yet he dwelt in tents, and so did Isaac and Jacob, his son and grandson, who shared the same promise.
