Isaiah 32:12 meaning and explanation
Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vines,
Isaiah 32:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah has just told the complacent women of Jerusalem to stand and listen: within a little more than a year the grape harvest and fruit harvest will fail (verses 9 to 10). Here he calls them to beat their breasts, a gesture of mourning, not over personal loss alone but over the pleasant fields and fruitful vines that will be stripped.
