Isaiah 33:24 meaning and explanation

And no resident of Zion will say, “I am sick.” The people who dwell there will be forgiven of iniquity.

Isaiah 33:24, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Isaiah 33 closes with a picture of Jerusalem restored after the Assyrian threat has collapsed and the LORD has risen to defend His city. In that day no resident of Zion will say, "I am sick." The Hebrew word chalah can mean weak or worn down as well as ill, so the promise covers both bodily healing and the end of the frailty that sin brought.
