Jeremiah 26:6 meaning and explanation
then I will make this house like Shiloh, and I will make this city an object of cursing among all the nations of the earth.’”
Jeremiah 26:6, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jeremiah 26:6 is part of the LORD's message that the prophet is told to deliver in the temple courtyard at the start of Jehoiakim's reign. God warns that if Judah will not listen to his law or to the prophets sent again and again, he will make the temple "like Shiloh." Shiloh was the early sanctuary where the ark once stood, and it had been destroyed, so the threat means the temple will not protect a disobedient people.
