Job 18:13, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Bildad the Shuhite is the second of Job's three friends to speak, and here he answers Job's complaint with a harsh poem about the fate of the wicked. In verse 13 he pictures a disease eating a man's skin and then his limbs, personified as "the firstborn of death," a Hebrew idiom for the deadliest form of death, the first and worst of its offspring.
