Mark 11:13 meaning and explanation
Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if there was any fruit on it. But when He reached it, He found nothing on it except leaves, since it was not the season for figs.
Mark 11:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus is on the road from Bethany toward Jerusalem, hungry, the morning after the crowd welcomed him into the city. Mark notes that it was not the season for figs, which makes the scene puzzling: the tree's full leaf promised fruit that was not there.
