Numbers 25:6, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The scene is set at Shittim, where Israel has already fallen into sexual immorality and idolatry with Moabite and Midianite women, provoking a plague and God's command to execute the guilty leaders. While the whole congregation weeps at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, an Israelite man named Zimri, a Simeonite leader, brazenly brings a Midianite woman, Cozbi, into his family in full public view.
