Philippians 2:12 meaning and explanation
Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul writes to the Philippian believers from prison, and the word "therefore" ties this verse to the hymn about Christ's humility and exaltation just above it. Because Christ humbled Himself and was exalted, Paul urges his beloved friends to keep responding in obedience whether or not he is with them.
