Revelation 16 continues the series of seven judgments, and here the command comes from the temple in heaven, most likely from God himself, since no human or angel gives orders to these seven angels. The bowls are shallow offering bowls, and the Greek word thumos, rendered wrath, carries the sense of fierce, boiling anger.
