Revelation 4:5 meaning and explanation
From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings, and peals of thunder. Before the throne burned seven torches of fire. These are the seven Spirits of God.

John, exiled on Patmos, has just been shown an open door into heaven and a throne with someone seated on it (verses 1 and 2). In verse 5 the throne itself speaks: lightning, rumblings and thunder echo the storm at Sinai, where God appeared to Israel in fire and trembling (Exodus 19:16).
